Deadpool vs. Wolverine

2024
Directors: Shawn Levy
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, and more.

Deadpool is offered a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by the Time Variance Authority, but instead recruits a variant of Wolverine to save his universe from extinction.

I had the chance to catch an early midnight screening of Deadpool 3 in a packed IMAX theater, and the experience was nothing short of electric. From start to finish, the audience was buzzing with laughter and cheers, completely immersed in the wild ride that this movie offers. I’d enjoyed the first two Deadpool films but this was a whole other level.

While the story might get a little confusing at times, it doesn’t take away from the sheer fun of the film. There’s never a dull moment as every scene is packed with action, humor, or both. The action sequences are a delightful mix of bloody and goofy, staying true to the franchise’s signature style. The humor is as hardcore as ever, and the film takes a very meta approach that fans will love.

One of the standout aspects of Deadpool 3 is its ability to balance humor with genuine emotion. Unlike many newer MCU movies, this film allows its emotional scenes to shine without undercutting them with jokes. This refreshing change makes it feel more like a classic Fox film than an MCU one.

Hugh Jackman is incredible as Wolverine, bringing his usual charisma and intensity to the role. The cameos throughout the movie are truly special and often serve a purpose beyond mere fan service, adding an extra layer of enjoyment for longtime fans.

Ultimately, Deadpool 3 delivers exactly what you’d expect from a summer blockbuster—entertainment, excitement, and a whole lot of fun. It’s a fan service film in the best way possible, and if you loved the previous Deadpool movies, this one will not disappoint.
